Mary-Louise Parker Adopts a Child from Africa

Weeds star Mary-Louise Parker has adopted a baby girl from Africa, her reps confirmed exclusively to PEOPLE.

Parker, who was nominated for two Emmy awards Sunday night, was spotted with her new daughter over the weekend as they traveled to the show.

The actress’s reps declined to reveal any more information about the adoption.

Parker, 43, also has a 3-year-old son, Will, with actor Billy Crudup, 39. The couple split before Will was born, but Parker told PEOPLE last year she never had any doubts about being a single mom.

“There are a lot of things I just would not attempt, but taking care of someone – I know how to do,” she said. “I know how to do that and I enjoy doing that.”

OJ Simpson Arrested

O.J. Simpson was arrested Sunday on charges related to an alleged armed robbery involving sports memorabilia on Thursday night in a Las Vegas hotel, say police in the gaming capital.

Authorities apprehended Simpson, 60, shortly after 11 a.m. and brought him to a police office, according to Capt. James Dillon, the Associated Press reports.

Police tell the AP that Simpson will face multiple felony charges, including robbery with a deadly weapon.

“They exploited Britney in helping to end her career… “When Britney was opening, near the end, I felt so bad for her. I said, ‘Man, it’s a dirty game. This game will chew you up and spit you out…And I just feel like I got betrayed by them. I feel like they tried to make it seem like I was so into everything that was going on in the show.”

Wait? MTV exploits people? What we see on television isn’t real? Really?!

Kanye, let me introduce you to the entertainment business. Perhaps you haven’t heard of it. People get dressed everyday, drive to work, sit down in their office, sign marginally talented singers, loud mouthed rappers, and use them to make their company money.

Britney is “Embarrassed”

Well duh! of course she is. Britney’s “comeback” performance at last night’s VMA’s sucked as you all know ( well minus 50 Cent apparently) and in less than 24 hours there has been enough theories as to why she sucked to make 9/11 conspiracy nuts look sane.

Some people think it was due to Sarah Silverman’s crass joke about her babies being “mistakes”, Brit Brit’s shoes failing her, wrong wardrobe, and being nervous. While we’ll never really know why she sucked so hard I will go out on a ledge and say it was because she um… has no real talent. There were many MANY people there that night that out shinned Britney Spears because they were 1. prepared 2. professionals and 3. had actual talent. I feel sorry for Britney but only up to a point. The world doesn’t really need a Spears comeback. There are plenty other performers and artists worthy of the attention she gets. If she doesn’t want to get a hold of her life and have a career that’s on her. It’s no ones loss but hers. Perform or don’t perform. No one will miss her.

Cruel? maybe, but I think many would agree with me.
